About the Home Repairs Program

• Roof and porch repair/replacement primarily

• Ensure remediation of environmental health hazards. Areas of concern to be addressed include mold, asbestos or lead remediation, air quality and other environmental issues that may be deemed unhealthy living conditions.

• Rehabilitation, or repairs for households with occupants(s) with disabilities

• Home repairs for households facing imminent threats to health and safety.

Services  provided to homeowners for rehabilitation or repair services to qualified owner-occupied homes of single-family units attached or detached or 2-to-4 rental units within owner-occupied properties. Services for this program are limited to roof or porch, and accessible improvements for senior household occupants with disabilities, and other safety issues. Households must meet the city of Chicago’s low/moderate income limits, and the property must be a single-family home or 2-to-4-unit apartment building where 1 unit is occupied by owner and located in Chicago city limits. BWF Construction is required to fund the repair and rehabilitation projects. We have completed over 25 projects for the City of Chicago.
